On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Lou K. Coleman gained her angel wings and entered eternal rest. A cherished columnist and longtime Administrative Assistant for the Westside Story Newspaper, Lou was more than just a valued member of our team—she was family. Known for her radiant spirit and unwavering faith, Lou never met a stranger. Her words inspired countless readers, and her presence touched the lives of everyone she met. With every conversation, she made it her mission to share the goodness of God and the love of Jesus Christ.

“My Auntie Lou K Coleman was a 4x cancer survivor! Four times, wow! What a testimony! I’m a 2x cancer survivor! Praise God. Although she was 2,481 miles away, she made sure to let me know she was right here, and that God gives the toughest battles to His strongest soldiers, because we can handle it, and (We DID). Most importantly, she reminded me to always keep Faith in God, and (I Will). #RipAuntieLouLou #MySoldier #TheStrongest” – Shandria Kendrick

“Whew, this one definitely hurts….Ms Lou K Coleman, we’ll miss you here on Earth. Thank you for showing us what it meant to be unapologetically and unashamed to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You were one of God’s most fearful, fierce, and non-judgmental leaders. A soul was never a stranger to you. From those of us that were close to you to the person sleeping on the streets…everyone knew they could come to Ms. Lou for advice or just those calming, reassuring, and motivational words. Rest in Heavenly peace our angel. And to Krystal Yvonne…I’m here whenever you need me, I may be across the country, but feel free to call anytime. Love ya!” -Naomi K. Bonman
