VOSB certification spotlights Phenix Technology, Inc.’s longstanding association with both the fire service and the U.S. military.
RIVERSIDE, CA – Phenix Technology, Inc., a firefighter-owned and operated manufacturer of firefighter helmets and PPE, is proud to announce that it has received Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) certification through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s VetCert Program.
Although veteran-owned since its inception in 1972, this certification formally recognizes Phenix as a veteran-owned small business and opens new opportunities for the company in the federal and military contract space.
“Phenix has always been veteran-owned, but this new certification makes that fact more widely known and opens up opportunities for us to pursue new relationships and expand our brand,” said Angel Sanchez, CEO.
Veteran service remains deeply rooted in the Phenix family. Ray Russell, owner and founder of Phenix Technology, Inc., served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963 and his son, Shaun Russell, also served in the U.S. Army, with the 10th Mountain Division. During his service time, Shaun deployed to combat zones as part of his tour in Kosovo and earned several medals for courage and valor.
The military service of both Ray and Shaun, as well as many other members of the Phenix family, serves as a reflection of the longstanding family commitment to protecting others – values that continue to shape Phenix and its devotion to manufacturing firefighter helmets and other vital PPE.
