Los Angeles, June 11, 2025 – Television personality and social activist Ananda Lewis has died at age 52 after a years-long battle with breast cancer, her sister Lakshmi announced June 11 via Facebook: “She’s free, and in His heavenly arms” .

In October 2020, Lewis announced her Stage III breast cancer diagnosis, encouraging regular mammograms after delaying her own due to fear of radiation. Her cancer advanced to Stage IV by 2024, and she later expressed regret over declining recommended treatments.

“I felt like my body is intelligent… I wish I could go back. It’s important for me to admit where I went wrong.”
