SAN BERNARDINO, CA— The Southern California Black Chamber of Commerce, YouthBuild Inland Empire, and LUE Productions Community Umbrella Services have proudly announced acclaimed actor, comedian, producer, and director Brian Hooks as the 2026 Grand Marshal for the 6th Annual San Bernardino Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade & Extravaganza.
Brian Hooks, widely recognized for his leading roles in 3 Strikes, UPN’s hit sitcom Eve, and the comedy classic Soul Plane, has built a career rooted in creativity, humor, and cultural impact. Beyond entertainment, his ongoing commitment to community empowerment and positive representation makes him a fitting choice to lead this year’s celebration. His participation as Grand Marshal reflects the spirit of unity, resilience, and hope that continues to define Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring legacy.
The 2026 celebration, themed “The Power of Unity: Together We Rise” under the banner “United for the Dream,” will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at YouthBuild Inland Empire, located at 624 W. 4th Street in San Bernardino, California. The day will begin with the highly anticipated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, followed immediately by the Extravaganza, a vibrant community festival designed to engage, inspire, and celebrate people of all ages.
The Extravaganza will feature dynamic speakers, cultural displays, an art walk, live entertainment, music and dance performances, youth-centered activities, community organizations, and a variety of food offerings, creating a festive atmosphere rooted in purpose and cultural pride.
Organizers are actively inviting community participation and are currently seeking sponsors who are committed to uplifting the community while gaining meaningful visibility, vendors offering food, crafts, merchandise, or community services, performers in music, dance, spoken word, and cultural arts, as well as volunteers ready to support, serve, and celebrate.
Families, youth, local leaders, and organizations throughout the region are encouraged to attend and take part in honoring Dr. King’s legacy by standing together in unity, justice, and collective progress.
