Erickson-Hall Construction Co. has successfully completed its eight-week Summer Sprint. This annual tradition utilizes the quiet summer months to deliver school infrastructure improvements across multiple districts while minimizing disruptions to students, recognizing that uninterrupted education is crucial for student success. This intensive construction period requires meticulous planning and effective teamwork to execute numerous projects simultaneously within a short timeframe.

2025 Summer Sprint Project Highlights
- Whittier Elementary School, Hemet Unified School District: Modernization of two school buildings, updating five existing classroom buildings. Additionally, three brand-new wood-framed structures were added, blending innovative design with highly functional spaces. This expansion increased the school by over 19,000 square-feet. The project included completing the remaining site work that had to be finished during the summer, requiring detailed advance planning and coordination.
- Carillo Elementary School, San Marcos Unified School District: Transformation of existing fields into a state-of-the-art artificial turf surface designed for durability and all-season use. The project included new field drainage below the synthetic turf, replacing existing asphalt play areas and equipping them with four walls designed to sustain impact from sports balls, four basketball courts, four tether ball poles and a variety of additional recreational courts. The key to this project’s success was streamlined communication on day-to-day issues and advanced planning up to four to six weeks ahead throughout the summer.
- Del Mar Hills Academy, Del Mar Union School District: Renovation of the existing administration and classroom building, substantial structural upgrades to interior and exterior spaces. This consisted of upgrading play structures and new site improvements across the entire campus. Success came from identifying challenges early, swiftly addressing unforeseen problems and strong coordination between all team members.
- Hamilton Middle School, Long Beach Unified School District: Construction of a new gymnasium and relocation of four modular classroom buildings and one restroom building. Additional scope included storm drain work, concrete paving and new fence installation. The team conducted thorough on-site investigations and developed highly detailed schedules to help prevent delays and minimize errors.
- Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District: Installation of new playgrounds at seven elementary schools across the district, requiring comprehensive quality control planning and continuous cross-departmental communication.
In order to successfully complete these extensive projects on a tight schedule, Erickson-Hall prepares well in advance. The team conducts investigative demonstrations to understand building layouts before construction begins and implements quality control schedules to prevent rework. With these tight timelines, there is little room for error or unforeseen challenges, requiring Erickson-Hall to identify all potential risks and develop comprehensive contingency plans.
