SAN BERNARDINO, CA— The League of Women Voters of the San Bernardino Area (LWVSB) is marking a historic milestone — 70 years of empowering citizens and defending democracy — with its 50th annual Citizens of Achievement and Civic Engagement Awards. The celebration takes place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., with registration and a pre-reception beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Sterling Natural Resource Center, 25318 5th Street in Highland.

This year’s ceremony honors five exceptional individuals and two community organizations whose service, leadership, and vision continue to shape and uplift the Inland Empire.

The 2025 Citizens of Achievement honorees are Jocelyn Harris, Dr. Lisa Henkle, Prince Ogidkipe, Gerry Ramos, and Edwina Thomas — each recognized for their dedication to social impact, education, advocacy, and community empowerment. The Civic Engagement awards will be presented to National Black Grads and Youth Action Project, two organizations inspiring the next generation of changemakers through mentorship, education, and service.

Tickets are $25 per person or $150 for a table of eight. Proceeds and additional donations help support LWVSB’s ongoing efforts in voter registration, civic education, and protecting the right to vote.
