| The Living Room grew from a shared commitment to making important health information accessible and turning awareness into action. For Entrepreneur and Business Mogul Timothy Stansell, that commitment is deeply personal. A serious heart-health scare prompted him to learn more about cardiovascular health and the importance of informed lifestyle choices. The experience marked a fresh start and inspired him to become an advocate for heart health, particularly among men. Through his work as a health ambassador with Healthy Heart Nation, founded by Dr. Columbus Batiste and Danette Batiste, a nonprofit organization committed to building healthier communities, Stansell deepened his understanding of health education and the value of sharing that knowledge with others. Through meetings with Dr. Batiste, Stansell was inspired about building healthy communities. He recognized the need for accessible conversations about prevention and wellness motivating Stansell to partner with Anissa LaCount, MD, to develop “The Living Room” a welcoming space where medical professionals and community members can come together for open, conversation and informative discussions. In June 2026, The Living Room hosted a men’s health gathering focused on prostate cancer, heart disease, and mental wellness, bringing these important topics into a community-centered conversation. Healthy Heart Nation was founded by Dr. Columbus Batiste and Danette Batiste to advance community health through education, prevention, and sustainable lifestyle change. Dr. Batiste, a board-certified interventional cardiologist, is recognized for his innovative approach to chronic disease management through plant-based nutrition, regular exercise, stress reduction, and patient empowerment. He also developed a pioneering virtual cardiac rehabilitation program and is the author of *Selfish: A Cardiologist Guide to a Stressed Heart*. Timothy Stansell’s partnership with Healthy Heart Nation began when he welcomed the organization into his barbershop to provide weekly blood-pressure screenings for community members. After experiencing a serious cardiac event himself, Stansell sought medical care and developed a deeper appreciation for the importance of exercise, self-care, and listening to one’s body. Today, he serves as a Healthy Heart Nation Ambassador, committed to expanding health education, mentorship, and preventive care in the community. |
| This Saturday, The Living Room expands that conversation to women’s health.
