The community spoke. In a moment of growth, the Board listened.
RIVERSIDE, CA — The Riverside Sheriff Accountability Coalition commends the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for voting 4-1 Tuesday afternoon to protect Riverside County taxpayers from covering Sheriff Chad Bianco’s legal bills in the ballot seizure litigation.
This is what the beginning of accountability looks like — and RSAC does not take it lightly.
RSAC thanks the Board for putting the taxpayers, residents, and voters of Riverside County first. We welcome this change — and look forward to more days like today.
We also invite the Board to revisit the full scope of the ballot seizure. While we understand they cannot comment on pending litigation, we look forward to seeing a resolution at the next Board meeting, affirming confidence in the Registrar of Voters and the integrity of Riverside County’s ballot tallying procedures.
We further look forward to Supervisor Medina’s colleagues joining his complaint to the county’s Fraud, Waste and Abuse Committee — because accountability should not stop at the budget line.
