Eugene Weems, candidate for California’s 33rd Congressional District, is calling on the media and public to attend a major press conference where he says he will expose corruption, political intimidation, and “pay-to-play politics” he personally encountered while attempting to work alongside elected officials in San Bernardino County.
Weems, a former world champion kickboxer, entrepreneur, bestselling author, and CEO of Vibrant Green for Vibrant Peace (VG4VP), has officially launched his congressional campaign on a platform centered around truth, transparency, accountability, and restoring trust between government and the people.
Describing himself as an “Pragmatic Republican: Principled. Not a Politician.” and “a true voice for forgotten communities,” Weems says voters are tired of establishment politics and leaders who prioritize political connections over real people.
“This campaign is not about political games,” said Weems. “This is about exposing corruption, standing up against intimidation, and giving the people of California’s 33rd District a representative who cannot be bought, controlled, or silenced.”
Weems says he plans to publicly discuss what he describes as firsthand experiences involving political pressure, attempted extortion, and barriers faced while trying to advocate for underserved communities.
“I’ve seen what happens behind closed doors,” Weems stated. “When I tried to partner with certain political figures to help people in need, I encountered pay-to-play politics. That is not how I operate. I believe in action, transparency, and serving the people first — not protecting political insiders.”
After serving more than 17 years in prison, Weems rebuilt his life and became a prominent grassroots community advocate known throughout San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas communities for his outreach work involving homelessness, violence prevention, youth mentorship, healthcare initiatives, wildfire relief, and support for underserved families.
Weems says his life journey gives him a unique understanding of the struggles facing working-class Americans, seniors, formerly incarcerated individuals, and communities often ignored by traditional politicians.
“I know what it feels like to fight for a second chance,” Weems said. “I understand families struggling to survive, seniors choosing between medication and rent, and communities desperate for leadership that truly listens. My campaign is about putting people before politics.”
Campaign officials say the upcoming press conference will include statements regarding government accountability, transparency in public leadership, and Weems’ broader vision for California’s 33rd Congressional District.
Political observers are already describing Weems as one of the most unconventional congressional candidates in California, with a campaign expected to draw widespread public and media attention due to his background, outspoken messaging, and grassroots support.
