SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting the public that construction contractors continue performing work along Interstate 15 (I-15) south-bound (SB), for the $25M Cajon Weigh Station Relocation Project. This project will relocate the SB Cajon Weigh Station and Truck Safety Check Area in Cajon. The existing facility is closed. Crews will perform work behind k-rail barriers. The project is anticipated to be completed by Fall 2025.

Phase 2 of our construction project is now underway; crews are performing grinding work this week following the concrete paving that was completed two weeks ago. Crews will close the following locations to complete work.
Closure Location:

  • SB I-15 Oak Hill Rd. off ramp and on ramp will be closed.
  • SB I-15 EB/WB Ranchero Rd. on ramp closed
  • Alternating closures on SB I-15 between Hesperia and the weighing station (see map on page 2).
  • Lane #1 will remain open for all ongoing traffic.

Closure Schedule:
Nightwork is between 7:00 pm and 5:00 am (7:00 am if needed), Tuesday May 27th through Friday May 30th, 2025.

Road users are reminded to reduce speed in and around the work zone and be advised that weather and/or other factors may affect the construction schedule.

This is an active work zone causing potential traffic delays. Occasional lane and shoulder closures may be required to move equipment and perform work operations. Drivers, PLAN AHEAD and drive safely; being mindful of closures and alternate routes.

Know before you go! To stay on top of roadwork in the Inland Empire go to Caltrans District 8 and sign up for commuter alerts.
