RIVERSIDE, CA — The Riverside Police Department announced a generous donation of $28,850 to be shared between two local breast cancer organizations. They are the CARE Project, Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals affected by breast cancer, and the Pink Ribbon Place, which supports both breast and ovarian cancer patients.
This significant contribution was raised through the efforts of the all-female youth judo tournament organized by Riverside Youth Judo Club, led by Sensei Money (Detective Brian Money,) which funds initiatives for those battling breast and ovarian cancer. The event, along with T-shirt sales and other activities, set a new record by raising $28,850.
Recently, TCP Founder Carrie Madrid, along with board member Gina Fitzsimmons, met with Riverside Police Chief Larry Gonzalez, Money and City Council Member Jim Perry to accept the donation.
“Our mission continues to grow,” said Madrid. “We don’t just care for survivors; we care for their families, too.”
The donation also supports The Pink Ribbon Place and highlights the community’s vital role in supporting small non-profits such as The CARE Project, Inc.
The Riverside Youth Judo Club’s all-female youth judo tournament stands out as the only one of its kind, raising funds to support those fighting breast and ovarian cancer.
Community support is everything for small nonprofits such as The CARE Project, Inc.
