DEVORE, CA— This past Saturday, October 11, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department hosted its latest Lady Be Aware self-defense course at the department’s Training Center in Devore.
The full-day, eight-hour program provided participants with a comprehensive blend of classroom instruction, weaponless defense techniques, and firearm safety training. Designed specifically for women, the course focused on equipping attendees with the awareness, confidence, and practical skills necessary to reduce the risk of becoming victims of violence.
Open to women ages 16 and older (with a guardian for minors), the training drew participants from across the county eager to learn real-world strategies for personal protection.
Due to continued interest, additional Lady Be Aware courses are scheduled for November 15, January 10, January 24, and February 21. Registration is $75 and can be completed by emailing ladybeaware@sbcsd.org
