San Bernardino Launches 2026 “Love Your Block” Mini Grants: Celebrating the Spirit of Route 66

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — The City of San Bernardino is officially inviting residents to put their community pride into gear. Starting today, applications are open for the 2026 Love Your Block (LYB) Mini Grant program.

This year’s theme, “Inspired by Route 66. Powered by Community,” focuses on revitalizing neighborhoods through the lens of the city’s iconic Mother Road history.

The program provides funding for community-driven projects that enhance public spaces, foster neighborhood pride, and celebrate the unique cultural identity of San Bernardino.

While projects do not need to be located directly on the historic highway, they should reflect the spirit, history, or identity of Route 66.

“This is an opportunity for our neighborhood champions to turn their ideas into action,” says the Love Your Block Team. “Whether it’s activating a public space or bringing a creative improvement to life, we want to empower residents to lead the way.”

Application & Project Timeline

The city has outlined a streamlined timeline to move projects from concept to completion by late summer:
